Removing Files Left by "Test Drive the Internet" Demonstration

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer Starter Kit version 2.0

SYMPTOMS

When you view the Test Drive The Internet demonstration included with the Internet Explorer Starter Kit, two files (Globhist.htm and Iexplore.cif) are left on the hard disk when you quit the demonstration. These files remain even if you did not install any part of the Internet Explorer Starter Kit.

RESOLUTION

You can use the Find feature to locate these files and delete them.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Internet Explorer Starter Kit version 2.0. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
