SYMPTOMS

If you press and hold down the Option key while you double-click a folder icon in the Favorites window, you receive the following error message:

Sorry, a system error occurred. "Internet Explorer 3.01" error type 11

Similar errors of type 1 or type 2 may also occur.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Internet Explorer version 3.01a for Macintosh. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

MORE INFORMATION

If you press and hold down the Option key while you double-click an icon in a Finder folder, the folder closes after the item that the icon is associated with is opened. Because the Favorites window is not a Finder folder, this is not a supported feature.
