- Microsoft Internet Explorer Administration Kit version 3.2a

SYMPTOMS

When you set up Custom Optional Components, and if one of the components finishes running before the other, the Custom Optional Component may prompt you to restart the computer before the other component has finished its setup process.

CAUSE

This was tested using VRML and Winzip as Custom Optional Components. Because Winzip had several more setup steps than VRML, when VRML finishes its setup process, it prompts you to restart the computer. Winzip is still running its Setup program in the background.

If you restart the computer when you are first prompted, the setup of Winzip will fail. You must restart the computer after all the Setup programs are done.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem with Microsoft Internet Explorer Administration Kit version 3.2a. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
