IntelliType 1.1 Online User's Guide Icon Left After Uninstall

SYMPTOMS

After you uninstall the IntelliType software, the IntelliType Online User's Guide_Help icon may remain on the Start menu.

CAUSE

This problem can occur if you have both the IntelliPoint 1.1 and IntelliType 1.1 software installed and you then remove the IntelliType software.

RESOLUTION

To remove the IntelliType Online User's Guide_Help icon from the Start menu, follow these steps:

  1. Use the right mouse button to click an empty spot on the taskbar, and then click Properties on the menu that appears.

  2. Click the Start Menu Programs tab, and then click Remove.

  3. Open the folder containing the IntelliType Online User's Guide_Help icon, click the icon, and then click Remove.

  4. Click Close, and then click OK.

Microsoft is researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

MORE INFORMATION

Although the IntelliType Online User's Guide_Help icon remains, the actual files are removed when you uninstall the software.
