The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft IntelliType software versions 1.0, 1.1

SYMPTOMS

When you assign sounds to keystrokes on the Options tab in the Keyboard tool in Control Panel, the sounds may not be played when you press the assigned keys.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if you have HiJaak Pro or HiJaak 95 Graphics Suite installed on your computer. These products may load a device driver named Runner that disables IntelliType keyboard sounds.

RESOLUTION

To work around this problem, follow these steps:

  1. Press CTRL+ALT+DELETE to open the Close Program dialog box.

  2. If Runner is listed, click Runner and then click End Task.

If this resolves the problem, consult the HiJaak product documentation or manufacturer for assistance with this issue.
