Last reviewed: November 14, 1997
Article ID: Q163596
The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft IntelliMouse version 1.0
  • Microsoft IntelliMouse TrackBall version 1.0
  • Microsoft IntelliPoint software version 2.0

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Internet Explorer, you cannot use the IntelliMouse wheel to scroll through items in a list on an HTML page. When you roll the IntelliMouse wheel, the entire HTML page scrolls.

CAUSE

Internet Explorer defines how input from the IntelliMouse wheel is handled. The HTML code that creates the list on the HTML page has no means of capturing input from the IntelliMouse wheel.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.
