The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Mouse Driver for MS-DOS, versions 6.x , 7.x, and 8.x
  • Microsoft Serial-PS/2 Mouse, version 1.0
  • Microsoft Bus Mouse, version 1.0

SUMMARY

Ventura Publisher uses its own mouse driver for the Serial-PS/2 mouse. For the bus mouse, Ventura requires the Microsoft Mouse driver (MOUSE.COM) to be loaded.

If you are experiencing problems using a Serial-PS/2 mouse, reinstall Ventura and select the Bus Mouse option. This loadS the Microsoft Mouse Driver rather than the driver supplied by Ventura. The problems that you experience with your Serial-PS/2 mouse are no longer present.

NOTE: You DO NOT need to replace your Serial-PS/2 mouse to choose the bus mouse option. Selecting the Bus mouse option bypasses Ventura's own mouse drivers.

The Ventura product included here is manufactured by a vendor independent of Microsoft; we make no warranty, implied or otherwise, regarding this product's performance or reliability.
