GP Fault in OLE2.DLL Opening/Saving Under Novell and OS/2

SYMPTOMS

If you try to open or save documents while running in an Operating System/2 (OS/2) version 2.1 or 2.11 and Novell environment, you may receive general protection (GP) faults in OLE2.DLL. This is known to be a problem in the products listed at the beginning of this article.

STATUS

We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

WORKAROUND

Edit the WinOs2 settings in the OS/2 Desktop and set NetWare Resources equal to None.
