OFF97: Custom Toolbars on OSB Are Not Reset by Setup /y

Last reviewed: March 12, 1998
Article ID: Q160580

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Office 97 for Windows

SYMPTOMS

After you run the Office Setup program in maintenance mode and use the /y switch, custom toolbars on the Office Shortcut Bar are still available.

CAUSE

The /y switch resets default settings but does not affect custom toolbars. Because the Microsoft Office Setup program does not change or delete files that you create, including customized toolbar settings, the Setup program does not overwrite or change them.

MORE INFORMATION

The /y switch rewrites registry entries and affects only the default toolbars on the Office Shortcut Bar.
