OL97: Spelling Checker Does Not Check Words in the Subject Line

SYMPTOMS

The spell checker in Microsoft Outlook 97 does not check the spelling of words in the Subject line of an e-mail message.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Outlook 97 for Windows. This problem was corrected in Microsoft Outlook 97 version 8.02 for Windows.

MORE INFORMATION

When composing a new e-mail message using Outlook's internal e-mail editor, you may check the spelling of the words in your message, however, Outlook will not check the spelling of words contained on the Subject line.

On the Tools menu, click Spelling, to check the spelling of the text of your message.
