PC Win: Saving Composed Message When Net Connection Goes Down

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Mail for Windows, versions 3.0, 3.0b, 3.1, and 3.2

SYMPTOMS

If the network goes down while you are composing a message in version 3.0, 3.0b, 3.1, or 3.2 of Microsoft Mail for Windows and you try to exit Mail or save the message in the Inbox, the following message is displayed:

   There is not enough memory or system resources to save changes.

RESOLUTION

When this message is displayed, do the following:

  1. From the File menu, choose Save As.

  2. Type the filename and select the location to save it to, then choose the OK button.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in versions 3.0, 3.0b, 3.1, and 3.2 of Microsoft Mail for Windows. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
