Err Msg: "No Valid .FMT Files Available" Printing Schedule+ File

SYMPTOM

When you print a Schedule+ file, the following error message may appear: 

   The print operation could not be completed. Cannot print because there
   are not valid .FMT files available.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs when the following conditions are met:

  • You perform a Compact installation of Microsoft Office for Windows 95.

    -and-

  • You start Schedule+ and click Print on the File menu.

This behavior occurs because a Compact installation does not install the .fmt files that Schedule+ requires in order to print. This behavior is by design of the Office Setup program.

   Msoffice\Schedule

      Av41206.fmt
      Av41256.fmt
      Av41307.fmt
      Av41357.fmt
      Avl7901.fmt
      Avl7902.fmt
      Dyno106.fmt
      Normal.fmt
These files, which are necessary for printing, are also installed by Microsoft Exchange. In order to conserve disk space, Schedule+ uses the files installed by Exchange when you perform a Compact installation.
