BUG: Show Distribution Under Manage Indexes Menu Hangs SEM

SYMPTOMS

Selecting the Show Distribution command from the Manage Indexes menu hangs SQL Enterprise Manager (SEM) when clients are configured for TCP/IP sockets.

WORKAROUND

The Show Distribution command will work when configured for named pipes over TCP/IP or even Multiprotocol over TCP/IP.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft SQL Server version 6.0. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
