BUG: Showplan Does Not Show Information About Worktables

SYMPTOMS

If a table has a foreign key constraint that references another column in the same table (a self-reference), information about worktables are not printed in the showplan output of queries involving that table.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft SQL Server versions 6.0 and 6.5. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
