The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft LINK for MS-DOS, versions 5.3x and 5.5

By default, Microsoft LINK versions 5.3 and later produce applications for the protected-mode Microsoft Windows operating system. To create an application for real-mode Windows version 3.0, specify EXETYPE WINDOWS REALMODE in the application's module-definition (.DEF) file.

For more information on new LINK features and module-definition files, refer to chapter 16 in the Microsoft C/C++ "Environment and Tools" manual for version 7.0 or to the online help file.
