SYMPTOMS

When you use a RefEdit control on a UserForm inside a Microsoft Binder document, the RefEdit control does not collapse when you click the RefEdit button on the RefEdit control.

WORKAROUND

To workaround this problem, view the Microsoft Excel Worksheet section outside of the Binder before displaying the UserForm that contains the RefEdit control.

To view a Microsoft Excel worksheet outside of the Binder:

  1. Activate the section containing the worksheet.

  2. Click View Outside on the Section menu. The worksheet appears in Microsoft Excel.

  3. Once you have completed viewing the worksheet outside of the Binder document, click "Close and Return to Binder" on the File menu in Microsoft Excel.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

MORE INFORMATION

The RefEdit control is new to Microsoft Excel 97. The RefEdit control provides the functionality to fill an input box with the address of a range by clicking a worksheet and selecting the range.
