BUG: Visual Workbench Loses Focus Printing to Invalid Printer

The information in this article applies to:

  • The Visual Workbench, included with: Microsoft Visual C++ for Windows, versions 1.50 and 1.51

SYMPTOMS

The Visual Workbench will lose focus and hide behind other application windows when printing to a connected printer that has become invalid. Making the Visual Workbench the active task will restore focus.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a bug in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

MORE INFORMATION

To reproduce this problem, connect to a network print server. Change the name of the network print server. Then attempt to print from the Visual Workbench.
