The information in this article applies to:

  • The Microsoft C/C++ Compiler (CL.EXE), included with:

        - Microsoft C for MS-DOS, versions 6.0, 6.0a, and 6.0ax
        - Microsoft C for OS/2, versions 6.0, and 6.0a
        - Microsoft C/C++ for MS-DOS, version 7.0
        - Microsoft Visual C++ for Windows, versions 1.0 and 1.5

SYMPTOMS

In the Microsoft products listed above, a listing produced from a compilation with the option /Fs (for source listing) of a source file that includes the new #pragma title, does not have the specified title on the first page of the listing; the title appears correctly on subsequent pages of the listing. The format for the title pragma is:

   #pragma title("title string here")

RESOLUTION

The /Fs behavior is by design. To get a title on the first page, use the /St switch instead.
