The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Win32 Device Driver Kit (DDK) version 3.51

SYMPTOMS

You cannot enable page protection in a PCL printer minidriver created with Unitool and used in conjunction with Rasdd.dll. Printing from the sample HP LJ4 minidriver to file, for example, with page protection enabled yields:

   "%-12345X@PJL SET PAGEPROTECT=OFF"

The correct result should be:

   "%-12345X@PJL SET PAGEPROTECT=LETTER"

CAUSE

There is a bug in the initial release of Rasdd.dll.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a bug in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. This problem has been corrected; the new version of Rasdd.dll is available in Service Pack 2. Page protection works as expected with the new version of Rasdd.dll.
