BUG: CONFIGMG_Yield Can Cause Fatal Exception Under Win95 OSR2

SYMPTOMS

When running under Windows 95 OSR2, CONFIGMG_Yield may generate a fatal exception.

CAUSE

A problem with the CONFIGMG_Yield function in OSR2 can cause a stack misalignment to occur.

RESOLUTION

For short delays, instead of calling CONFIGMG_Yield, you can simply spin in a loop and call VTD_Get_Real_Time until the desired amount of time has passed.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a bug in Windows 95 OSR2. We are researching this bug and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
