Error Message: The Item(s) Could Not Be Saved

SYMPTOMS

When you use the right mouse button to click a non-editable fax in Microsoft Exchange and then click Save As on the menu that appears, or you click Save As on the File menu, you may receive the following error message:

   The item(s) could not be saved. Some information could not be read.
   Microsoft Exchange Client - 9992 - [81002708]

RESOLUTION

To save the fax, click OK to acknowledge the error message. The Save As dialog box then appears and you can save the file.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Windows 95. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

MORE INFORMATION

This behavior does not occur when you save an attached fax sent with e-mail format. You can also save the file by dragging it without receiving the error message.
