Display Repainted Incorrectly After Palette Change

SYMPTOMS

When you change the color palette in Windows 95 with a program running, the display may be repainted incorrectly.

CAUSE

Some programs do not work with dynamic color change.

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, use either of the following methods:

  • Change the color palette before starting the program.
  • Restart the program after you change the color palette.

MORE INFORMATION

After you change the color palette, a program may display colors or other elements incorrectly. The program may continue to work properly except for the display problem until the program is restarted. This only affects some programs.
