Quicken: GP Fault in QW.EXE During Transaction

SYMPTOMS

While entering a transaction in version 3.0 of Quicken for Windows under Windows NT, a general protection (GP) fault in QW.EXE appears.

CAUSE

The Quickfill feature is enabled. Quickfill is used to complete the entry of a transaction as soon as you type enough characters for it to be identified.

WORKAROUND

Disable Quickfill by doing the following:

  1. From the Edit menu choose Preferences.
2. Choose the Quickfill icon. 3. Choose Enable/Disable Quickfill options.
