Copy Request on Clients Fail with GSNW in Windows NT Server

SYMPTOMS

When you request a COPY command of files and directories on a NetWare server from any client workstation (other than a Windows NT Workstation) connected to a Windows NT Server version 3.5 that is configured with the Gateway Service for NetWare (GSNW), the operation fails but no error message appears.

CAUSE

This problem occurs if you are copying files and directories to any directory on the Windows NT Server or the client workstation that contains 10 or more subdirectories.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT version 3.5. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
