Ntbackup.exe Does Not Work with Removable-Media Drives

SYMPTOMS

Windows NT Backup does not detect removable-media drives (such as Zip drives and Syquest drives).

CAUSE

Windows NT Backup does not support and cannot use removable-media devices. You can use only tape drives with Windows NT Backup.

RESOLUTION

To use Windows NT Backup, obtain a supported tape drive as listed in the latest Windows NT Hardware Compatibility List.
