ERR: Cannot Copy Ntdetect.com or Ntldr During WinNT Install

SYMPTOMS

When you install Windows NT Server or Workstation on a system that uses an Adaptec AHA 2940UW as the boot controller, you may get the following error:

Cannot copy Ntdetect.com or ntldr.

CAUSE

This error may be caused by incorrect BIOS configuration Parameters set in the Adaptec SCSI controller.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, make sure the Boot Target ID matches the SCSI ID of the boot drive. For more information on how to do this, please contact the manufacturer.
