STOP 0x0000000A in Raspptpe.sys on a Windows NT PPTP Server

SYMPTOMS

You may experience a STOP 0x0000000A in Raspptpe.sys on a Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP) server running Windows NT while PPTP clients are connecting.

CAUSE

The problem can be caused by an improperly formatted PPTP control packet from a PPTP client.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the following fix or wait for the next Windows NT service pack.

This fix should have the following time stamp:

   12/05/97  04:47p                40,144 Raspptpe.sys (Intel)
   12/05/97  04:44p                75,856 Raspptpe.sys (Alpha)

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT version 4.0. A supported fix is now available, but has not been fully regression tested and should be applied only to systems experiencing this specific problem.
