SUMMARY

This article describes the three methods you can use to place a picture into the drawing layer in Microsoft Word:

  • Use the Picture command on the Insert menu.
  • Create a macro.
  • Cut the picture into the Clipboard.

MORE INFORMATION

Use the Picture Command on the Insert Menu

Insert the picture by choosing Picture from the Insert menu. Double-click the inserted picture. When it appears in the Picture Editor, select the objects with the drawing tool arrow and copy them to the Clipboard. Close the Picture Editor and paste the objects into the document. This action pastes the graphic into the drawing layer. Grouping objects before moving may be helpful for vector graphics.

Create a WordBasic Macro (Word 6.x and 7.x Only)
