The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSWhen you insert a frame for a text box in the text layer, the frame snaps horizontally or vertically if the Snap To Grid feature is enabled for the drawing layer.
WORKAROUNDTurn off the Snap To Grid option. In Word 6.x and 7.x, click the Drawing button on the Standard toolbar. Click the Snap To Grid button on the Drawing toolbar. Click to clear the Snap To Grid check box, and then click OK.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
MORE INFORMATIONSnap To Grid is a network of invisible lines that helps you align drawing objects on the drawing layer. If the Snap To Grid option is turned on for the drawing layer, frames inserted on the text layer will also be affected.
