  • Microsoft Word for Windows, versions 2.0, 2.0a, 2.0a-CD, 2.0b, 2.0c, 6.0, 6.0a

SYMPTOMS

In Word for Windows, if you print a document that contains paragraph shading using the PostScript printer driver version 3.5, 3.51, 3.52, 3.53, 3.54, 3.55 or 3.58 (PSCRIPT.DRV) for Microsoft Windows 3.1, one or more thin white horizontal bands may appear across the shaded paragraphs.

CAUSE

At printer resolutions of 600 dpi (dots per inch) or higher--which is common in the Linotype printer series and the Hewlett-Packard (HP) LaserJet 4 printers--the PostScript printer driver may cause streaks to appear in shaded paragraph areas.
