AutoCorrect Incorrectly Reinserts Entries with Symbols

SYMPTOMS

When an AutoCorrect entry contains an ending symbol, such as ">" or "*" (without the quotation marks), for example

     <tab> or *test*

if you press the BACKSPACE key to erase the symbol, and then press the SPACEBAR, AutoCorrect replaces the original text as follows:

     <<tab> or **test*

STATUS

WORKAROUND

Insert a space between the word and the symbol.
