Doc Error: File Paths Not Displayed on Window Menu

Last reviewed: February 5, 1998
Article ID: Q121111
The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Word for Windows, versions 6.0, 6.0a, 6.0c

SUMMARY

All active (currently open) documents display on the Window menu without showing their full paths.

The "Microsoft Word Developer's Kit" incorrectly states on pages 813-814 that the Window() and the WindowName$() functions will display the paths of open files if the documents do not reside in the current directory. The current directory is the directory location for the active document.

This functionality is different than Word version 2.0, where the paths displayed on the Window menu when you changed the current directory.

STATUS

Microsoft is researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
