GP Fault When Using PaperDirect Templates

SYMPTOMS

You may receive a general protection fault (GP fault) in WINWORD.EXE when creating a document based on PaperTemplates from PaperDirect. These templates are included with the Hewlett-Packard (HP) 4p printer or are available through catalog purchase.

The following templates are affected:

   Influence Business Cards          BC0505.DOT
   Essex Rolo Post Card              RC5203.DOT
   Multipurpose Card                 RC5101.DOT
   Laser 1-Pass with Peel Off Label  PA1024.DOT
   Influence Envelope                EV0502.DOT
   One-Up Rotary Card                RC5003.DOT
   One-Up Mailing Label              RC5101.DOT
   Envelope                          A2_ENV.DOT
   Influence Brochure Mailer Plus    BMT512.DOT


STATUS

PaperDirect Technical Support has confirmed this to be a problem with PaperTemplates version 5. This affects all templates in the set. There is at this time no other workaround.

The PaperTemplates products included here are manufactured by PaperDirect, a vendor independent of Microsoft; we make no warranty, implied or otherwise, regarding these products' performance or reliability.

RESOLUTION

Switch from Normal view to Page Layout view before working with these templates. To do this, go to the View menu and choose Normal.
