Last reviewed: February 5, 1998
Article ID: Q134805
The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Word for Windows 95, versions 7.0, 7.0a

SYMPTOMS

Some AutoCorrect entries that are converted to symbol characters are not converted when you type them in form fields.

CAUSE

Form Fields accept plain text only. Many of the AutoCorrect entries that are converted to symbols, such as the happy face or arrows, are stored as rich text. As a result, they are not converted when you type them in a form field.

STATUS

This problem was corrected in Microsoft Word 97 for Windows.
