WD: Toolbar Position Reset, Turned Off After Sending Message

Last reviewed: February 5, 1998
Article ID: Q134898
The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Word for Windows 95, version 7.0
  • Microsoft Word 97 for Windows

SYMPTOMS

Toolbars are re-positioned or turned off after you send a message from Word Mail. This behavior occurs for toolbars that are positioned and displayed while you are composing a new message.

Note that you will not see this behavior if you select and position your toolbars from Word before you access Word Mail.

CAUSE

Word does not store the toolbar positions or settings made during a Word Mail session. Word preserves these settings if you make them from within Word.

WORKAROUND

To retain toolbar positions from one Word Mail session to another, activate and position the toolbars while you are in a Word document.

STATUS

This behavior is by design of Microsoft Word.
