IA: Resetting Table Background Color Removes Cell Background

SYMPTOMS

When you apply a background color to the entire table as well as to selected cells, and you then reset the background color for the entire table to Auto, both background colors are removed.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Internet Assistant for Word, version 2.0z. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

WORKAROUND

After you reset the background color for the table, reapply the background colors to the individual cells.
