WD97 Problems Scrolling After Changing Zoom in Online View

SYMPTOMS

If you change the zoom percentage while in Online view, garbled text may appear on the screen or you may be unable to scroll to the top of the document using the PAGE UP or ARROW keys, or the vertical scrollbar.

CAUSE

Using the Zoom control in the Outline view in word may produce garbled text on the screen. It may also cause the scrolling feature to malfunction.

WORKAROUND

This is only a screen redraw problem. It does not affect the text or formatting of the document.

To force a correct redraw of the screen, switch to Normal or Page Layout view, and then back to Online view.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
