WD97: AutoComplete Suggests Incorrect Date

SYMPTOMS

When you start typing a date, Word may suggest an AutoComplete date format with an incorrect date.

CAUSE

The system date has changed since Word was started.

WORKAROUND

Quit and restart Word. Word will suggest the correct AutoComplete date.

NOTE: You do not need to restart Windows.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

To turn the AutoComplete feature off:

  1. On the Tools menu, click AutoCorrect.

  2. Click the AutoText tab.

  3. Click to clear the "Show AutoComplete tip for AutoText and dates" check box.
