WD: Grammar Checker Change Button Unavailable (Dimmed)

SYMPTOMS

When you check spelling and grammar in a document, the Change button is unavailable or dimmed.

CAUSE

You may have a picture or object in-line with the text being flagged for grammatical suggestions.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, manually change the text in the document to the suggested changes being offered by the grammar checker.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
