SUMMARY

In Microsoft Word for Windows, you can access Help in three ways: by choosing the Help menu, by pressing the F1 key, or by pressing the SHIFT+F1 key combination. F1 and SHIFT+F1 provide context-sensitive help. The differences between these two methods are as follows:

   Method Result
   ------ ------

F1 Highlight any menu, menu command, or area on the screen
and Press F1. Help for that item is brought up. This
method works even for gray unavailable menu items.

SHIFT+F1 Press SHIFT+F1. A question mark (?) replaces the mouse
pointer. Click a specific item for help. This method does
not work on unavailable menu items.
