SUMMARY
If you use the Generic/Text Only driver installed from the Microsoft
Windows version 3.0 disks, when you print a document with justified
paragraphs, only the first three lines of text will be printed.
This problem was corrected in the version 3.1 Windows Generic/Text
Only printer driver. The filename of the Generic/Text Only driver is,
TTY.DRV.
MORE INFORMATION
Steps to Reproduce Problem
- Install the Generic/Text Only printer driver through the Windows
Control Panel.
- Open Word for Windows, and type a four-line paragraph in a new
document.
- From the Format menu, choose Paragraph. Select Justified in the
Alignment box and choose the OK button.
- From the File menu, choose Printer Setup. Select Generic/Text Only
in the Printer box, and choose the OK button.
- From the File menu, choose Print.
Only the first three lines of text are printed. If you change the
paragraph alignment to left-aligned, centered, or right-aligned, every
line will print as expected. This problem occurs only in Word for
Windows with justified text. This problem does not occur in Microsoft
Windows Write; Write prints all justified lines using the same
Generic/Text Only driver.
