MORE INFORMATION

How to Use the Send To Command

In Windows Explorer or My Computer, use the right mouse button to click a file, point to Send To on the menu that appears, and then click a destination. The file is sent to or activated by the destination you select. Destinations that you can send a file to include:

  • Disk drives (local or network)
  • Fax printers
  • Printers
  • Windows-based programs

How to Modify the Send To Menu

By default, the Send To menu contains floppy disk drives, mail and fax recipients, and your Briefcase. To add a destination to the Send To menu, add a shortcut to the Windows\SendTo folder. To do so, follow these steps:

  1. Click the Start button, and then click Run.

  2. Type "sendto" (without quotation marks) in the Open box, and then click OK.

  3. Add a shortcut using either of the following methods:

        - Dragging a new shortcut to the folder:

Use the right mouse button to drag a destination to the SendTo
folder, and then click Create Shortcut Here on the menu that
          appears.

        - Creating a new shortcut with the Create Shortcut Wizard:

          1. On the File menu, point to New, and then click Shortcut.

          2. Follow the instructions in the Create Shortcut Wizard.

Removing a Shortcut

To remove a shortcut, use the right mouse button to click the shortcut in the SendTo folder, and then click Delete on the menu that appears.
