component

A building-block of an application from the programmer's perspective. Examples of components are a group of related files, a COM object, or a library. See also feature.

custom installer action

An action that is not built-in to the installer. A custom installer action modifies an existing database by calling an access function. See also access function and installer package authoring tool.
