Utilizing the standard database access features involves using the following procedures for obtaining a handle and accessing the installation database. The About Database Access section provides lists of standard access features that are provided by the installer with links to the appropriate procedures. The following is a list of the most common to use to access the database. Note that before working with a database you must first obtain a handle to it and then to save any changes you must commit the database.
