Appendix A - Major Revisions to Existing Resource Kit Books

Supplemental or updated information for both the Microsoft Windows NT Workstation Resource Kit: Windows NT Workstation Resource Guide and the Microsoft Windows NT Server Resource Kit: Windows NT Server Networking Guide is included here as follows:

For Windows NT Workstation Resource Guide, Part V, "Windows NT Registry," this appendix adds a supplemental section titled "Remote Access to the Registry." This supplemental section also contains a correction to an error in Windows NT Workstation Resource Guide Chapter 6, "Windows NT Security," and information on a related topic, "Remote Performance Monitoring."

For Windows NT Server Networking Guide, Chapter 9, "Managing Microsoft DNS Servers," this appendix updates the section titled "Porting Data Files from Other DNS Servers."

For Windows NT Server Networking Guide, Chapter 1, "Windows NT Networking Architecture," this appendix replaces the former section titled "Server Message Blocks" with a new version, titled "Server Message Blocks and the Common Internet File System."
