If a macro selects an object but does not deselect it, it may not be possible to enter new text in a module sheet. It looks like the system has locked up but all that's needed is to find the selected object on another worksheet and deselect it by typing ESC. This commonly happens when there's an error or Excel reaches a breakpoint while debugging.
