Pluggable Protocols Reference
This reference covers the APIs that are exported from the Urlmon.dll dynamic-link library. These APIs allow a developer to:
- Create monikers that can instantiate a named object and return a pointer to one of the object's interfaces asynchronously.
- Create an asynchronous moniker whose data is referenced by a URL (Uniform Resource Locator).
- Implement customized URL protocols, name space handlers, and MIME filters.
- Use functions that combine the functionality of asynchronous monikers and URL monikers.
- Manage URL security zones.
The reference contains the interfaces, methods, functions, structures, enumerated types, security zone flags, and error codes used by these APIs.
