Publishing Components

You can use Visual Component Manager to publish reusable components on a shared repository database, where they can be located and used by other developers.

Visual Component Manager provides three ways to publish items to the repository database, as described in the following list.

• Select a component in the Windows Explorer and drag it to a folder in the Visual Component Manager.
  
  
• Select a project in your development environment and click Publish on the project's shortcut menu. When you click Source Files, you publish the project’s source code files; when you click Build Outputs, you compile and publish its outputs.
  
  
• Click New on the Visual Component Manager shortcut menu.

Each of these methods opens the Publish Wizard, which walks you through a series of steps that allow you to publish a project for reuse.
