Opening Visual Studio Analyzer Views

You can open any view by clicking Analyzer on the View menu, by displaying the shortcut menu in the Project Explorer, or by clicking a button on the Analyzer Windows toolbar. You need to select an event log to view before you open a view. The following table summarizes how to open each view.

View How to Open
Event List view On the View menu, click Analyzer, and then click Event List.

Right-click on the event log in the Project Explorer, and then click Event List on the shortcut menu.

–or–

Click the New Event List button on the Analyzer Windows toolbar.

Chart view On the View menu, click Analyzer, and then click Chart.

–or–

Right-click the event log in the Project Explorer, and then click Chart on the shortcut menu.

–or–

Click the New Chart button on the Analyzer Windows toolbar.

Block Diagram views On the View menu, click Analyzer, and then click Machine Diagram, Process Diagram, or Component Diagram.

Right-click the event log in the Project Explorer, and then click Machine Diagram, Process Diagram, or Component Diagram on the shortcut menu.

–or–

Click the New Machine Diagram, New Process Diagram, or New Component Diagram button on the Analyzer Windows toolbar.

Event view On the View menu, click Analyzer, then click Event.

Right-click the event log in the Project Explorer, and then click Event on the shortcut menu.

–or–

Click the New Event Viewer button on the Analyzer Windows toolbar.

–or–

Double-click on the event you want.

Summary view On the View menu, click Analyzer, and then click Summary.

Right-click the event log in the Project Explorer, and then click Summary on the shortcut menu.

–or–

Click the View Summary button on the Analyzer Windows toolbar.

Timeline view On the View menu, click Analyzer, and then click Timeline

Right-click the event log in the Project Explorer, and then click Timeline on the shortcut menu.

Click the View Time Line button on the Analyzer Windows toolbar.
