The AgentAddress qualifier of the SNMP device namespace instance or SNMP-compatible class is a resolvable host name but the operation hangs for a period of time before unsuccessfully returning.

[This is preliminary documentation and subject to change.]

Further description:

If the AgentAddress qualifier is a host-name-resolvable string, check the response time of the Windows executable file ping.exe <hostname>, where hostname is the host-name-resolvable string. Windows may be trying to resolve the host name across multiple network interface cards. In this case, Windows is performing a less-than-optimal search order.

Solution:

The marshalling interface between the WBEM client and the WBEM server may be timing out before the operation completes. Try increasing the marshalling timeout period.
